R&B/Soul/Dance/Pop singer and songwriter Dru brings his soulful tunes to Regent Park at Paintbox Bistro on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 8pm.
Described as Determined. Revolutionary. Unstoppable. Dru’s recently released second solo album, On The Brink, produced by Effortless Entertainment/Universal Music Canada, offers musical ranges from up-tempo dance/pop tracks, such as the lead single, “Getting it in”, to soulful mid-tempo songs like “Love Collision”, to powerful ballads like “Solid Ground”. His 2008 first solo album, The One, earned him critical acclaim and received 3.5 out of 4 stars from Toronto Star. The first three singles of the album retained strong chart positions at CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC Radio stations across Canada. www.drumuzic.com
Success came early to Dru as a lead singer of the R & B group In Essence, whose debut album The Master Plan won a JUNO Award, MuchMusic Award, and a SOCAN#1 Award in 2004, for their hit single “You Will Never Find Me”.
“A soulful vibe comes through in everything I do”, said Dru, whose musical influences include Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Jodeci and Stevie Wonder.
Dru will be back at the Paintbox Bistro for an encore performance on Friday June 28, 2013
