Chinese-American Hip-Hop Icon MC Jin Announces Campaign with PledgeMusic

Multi-talented rapper and actor Jin Au-Yeung, also known as MC Jin, has announced a PledgeMusic campaign for his second full-length English album, "14:59," set for release on October 19th, 2014. MC Jin chose PledgeMusic's direct-to-fan platform to interact with his strong fanbase and reach a larger audience worldwide.

Since making his American appearance on the music scene more than a decade ago, MC Jin has racked up a long list of impressive accomplishments and became a pioneer in the hip-hop genre by breaking down barriers with his diverse talent. He first garnered national attention in 2002 when he stunned audiences with his talent on BET's 106 and Park Freestyle Fridays.  In 2004, he became the first Asian-American to release a solo rap album on a major label in the U.S. and catapulted to fame in China.  A decade later, MC Jin is a celebrated name in Hong Kong, has sold hundreds of thousands of records, and won numerous awards for his acting roles in Film and TV.

As the 10th anniversary of his first English album released via Ruff Ryders nears, MC Jin will release a highly anticipated collection of songs on "14:59" and is inviting his dedicated fanbase to come along for the journey. As the first PledgeMusic campaign to be translated into Chinese, MC  Jin will offer his fans exclusive opportunities, content and merchandise upon pledging support.  Fans can receive special experiences and items such as credit in album liner notes, a spirited basketball game with Jin, a name drop in an upcoming song, and a music video cameo. Pledge your support now at http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/mcjin

MC Jin commented: "PledgeMusic is a great platform for me to begin the process of "14:59." Rather than just asking, "here's my album, buy it", I'm able to invite each fan to be a part of this journey, from the creative process to the final release.  With this campaign, I'm hoping to capture for my fans what the past 10 years has entailed since my debut album."

Benji Rogers, President & Founder of PledgeMusic commented "Jin is an extremely charismatic and talented artist who has broken boundaries with his style of music.  He has made an impact on worldwide youth culture and now with PledgeMusic his fans can journey with him during this exciting stage in his career."

Carl Choi, Chief Steward of The Great Company commented: "We were extremely inspired by the innovation and forward thinking business model of PledgeMusic. We believe their dynamic model has been the missing link between artists and their fans. Thus we are committed to partnering with Benji and his team to help further the platform's global reach through MC Jin's campaign."

PledgeMusic is the world's leading online, direct-to-fan music platform, offering artists a unique way to engage their fans in the music making experience whilst interacting with PledgeMusic's global community of music fans. Since its inception in 2009, PledgeMusic has worked with artists and labels to deliver high impact campaigns that provide exclusive engagement, incentives and content for music fans as well as new commercial benefits and revenue streams for artists and music labels.

PledgeMusic's platform has generated chart topping albums worldwide. Successful campaigns have included Lindsey Stirling, OKGO, Mike Doughty, Echo and the Bunnymen, Imogen Heap, Lucinda Williams, Ingrid Michaelson, Slash, The Libertines, Bring Me The Horizon, Ginger Wildheart, Ben Folds Five, Killing Joke, Emmy The Great and Rachel Yamagata amongst others.  www.pledgemusic.com

Rest In Peace HUDDY COMBS SPEAKS ON DIPSET REUNION

RIP, HUDDY!

Harlem world rapper Huddy Combs (no relation to Diddy) died yesterday in a car accident. Apparently he was driving on the George Washington Bridge with a female and his car hit a tractor trailer truck. He was dead at the scene of the accident. Diddy tweeted about it too. From what I heard, Huddy was a best friend of Cam and Mase from back in the days. He was the dude that got Cam’ron to the hospital when he got shot in 2005. He was also a rapper in Mase’s short lived group Harlem World. RIP.

”My man here saved my life,” -Cam'ron said.
