Tali Lennox is pleased to announce her debut solo exhibition at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery in New York City. The exhibition, which will open March 18th, 2015 and run through April 19th, 2015, marks the first showing of Lennox’s portraits in the form of a solo exhibition in America.   Lennox, the daughter of singer/songwriter and activist Annie Lennox and film producer Uri Fruchtmann, relocated from London to New York City in September of 2012 so as to dedicate herself fully to her artistic endeavors. The move marked a turning point in her artistic work as she developed a love affair with the unique spirit of New Yorkers she encountered on a daily basis.
Inspired by the faces of the city Lennox focuses her work on capturing the human spirit in the form of portraits - paintings in particular. Not keen on images that are "too pretty or scenic", she prefers to create pictures that are "raw and honest”.
With thick paint and heavy brush strokes, Lennox captures the raw expression and character of her subjects in portraits of many depths. Constantly talking with the person in front of her canvas while painting, Lennox searches for beauty in what is human and unconventional. Catching each person's spirit through shadows of oil paint, Lennox describes her art as “a mixture of light and darkness, the beauty in imperfection.”
Lennox will showcase a series self portraits, what she deems “the original selfie,” alongside images of a range of characters that the young artist has encountered, often arbitrarily, throughout her residency in New York which have inspired her. “In a world where everything is instant and accessible,” says Lennox, “I search for hidden gems of authenticity. I am inspired by those who strive to be who they are and do not conform to the norms of modern society. These are the faces I will capture in my upcoming show.” All of these characters are artists themselves in different forms, each with a unique sense of individual, authentic, and nostalgic confidence. “With this series,” says Lennox in reference to her upcoming exhibition at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery, “I hope to offer a window into the lives of outsiders.”
Lennox will be the first artist to exhibit at Catherine Ahnell Gallery for the year; the live in workspace, established by Catherine Ahnell with the intent of creating a unique experience through the presenting art in it’s place of creation, plans to exclusively showcase female artists for the entire year of 2015. Lennox will join the likes of past exhibitors including Miljan Suknovic, Sambre, L'Atlas, Mehdi-Georges Lahlou, Jonas 'Sun7' Bournat, TANC, LMDLDZR (LeMoDuLeDeZeeR), and Yaze Yassine Mekhnache, in undergoing the process of living and creating her show within the gallery space.
For one month prior to the exhibition opening Lennox will live within the gallery, transforming the space itself into an art studio wherein Lennox will not only live but also produce the works for the upcoming exhibition for the purpose of allowing collectors and media the ability to understand the artists work and process. The month-long residency will be followed by a one-month solo exhibition of the art created by Lennox within the space.
Lennox will celebrate the opening of her exhibition with a private reception on Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 from 6:00PM – 9:00PM at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery, located at 66 Grand Street, New York, NY 10013.
The Tali Lennox solo exhibition will be open to the public for the duration of four weeks following the opening reception beginning on Thursday, March 19th, 2015 and closing on Sunday, April 19th, 2015 at the Catherine Ahnell Gallery, located at 66 Grand Street, New York, NY 10013.

Tali Lennox, born in London in 1993, is the daughter of Scottish recording artist Annie Lennox and Israeli film producer Uri Fruchtmann. Lennox is best known for her work as a model during her teenage years during which Lennox garnered the attention of the fashion industry through her work with fashion houses such as Acne, Miu Miu, Burberry, Christopher Kane, Topshop, and Prada. In September 2012 the Daily Mail singled Lennox out as a “style icon” in England alongside Harry Styles, after they both attended a Burberry Prorsum show during London Fashion Week. Shortly thereafter Lennox, who has loved art since she was a child, moved from her London home to New York City to pursue her passion for painting. Lennox currently resides in the East Village of New York City.
Lennox has been featured in leading publications including AnOther Magazine, ELLE, E! News, the Daily Mail, Glamour Magazine, New York Magazine, InStyle, Grazia, Interview Magazine, Marie Claire, The New York Observer, Vogue, The New York Times, People Magazine, Refinery29, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, STYLE.COM, Tatler, The Telegraph, Town & Country, The Wall Street Journal, Wonderland, RUSSH, Women’s Wear Daily, Who What Wear, W Magazine, and more…
Catherine Ahnell Gallery Freerunning Art Corp represents recognized young foreign artists by introducing them to the New York market. Debuting in New York these artists have received critical acclaim abroad where they are represented by established galleries such as Magda Danysz and Suzanne Tarasieve. They have also exhibited in art forums such as Foundation Cartier, Espace Louis Vuitton, Palais Tokyo and the Les Bains Douches project curated by Magda Danysz - an art exhibition showing installations from the world's most prominent street artists. It's not just a gallery. It's a live in work space with the goal to create an unique experience by presenting art in it's place of creation. The idea of the gallery came to Ahnell while living in Paris for three years before opening the gallery, meeting with artists as a collector. The meeting with Yassine Mekhnache was especially important, he was also the very first artist in residence and co-director in the beginning. “This project is a gift to myself,” says Ahnell, “an experience I would like to share with others.”
