CANADIAN DESIGNER, HENDRIXROE, ANNOUNCES UNVEILING OF SPRING/SUMMER 2017 MENSWEAR COLLECTION
Jordan Erin McKay, the visionary behind HENDRIXROE, a men’s and women’s ready-to-wear brand, announces her plans to unveil the spring/summer 2017 menswear collection at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, TOM*FW. HENDRIXROE will premiere the SS|17 menswear collection on the runway as the closing show on Thursday, August 18th at 10pm at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens) at 50 Carlton Street in Toronto, ON.
“I am honoured and excited to be part of TOM* this season. This is the largest collection I have ever done and my personal favourite. Each look is absolutely delicious. I can't wait to share it with you all!” Exclaims HENDRIXROE’s Designer, Jordan Erin McKay.
The SS|17 collection, entitled “Pulchritudinous Genesis” is inspired by the heartbreaking and breathtaking beauty of a modern day rock star, re-born. This season will mark the largest collection to date from HENDRIXROE and will include accessories including signature hats, scarves, leather belts and stunning sunglasses. HENDRIXROE prides itself on using the finest quality fabrics and the SS|17 collection is no exception. The HENDRIXROE spring/summer 2017 collection has incorporated the finest suede, lambskin leather, cashmere linen, silk cotton and will launch the HENDRIXROE “Purple Label” suits in Italian cashmere and wool.
“This is my largest and most luxurious collection yet. I had so many ideas to expand the men’s collection this year and I went for it all. The tailoring and fabrics are absolute perfection and I am thrilled that all my dreams became a tangible reality this season.” States Jordan Erin McKay, Designer, HENDRIXROE
It was a chance encounter with a complete stranger that inspired McKay to leave law school and follow her dreams to become a fashion designer. After a successful first season as a women’s wear line, HENDRIXROE debuted the inaugural menswear collection in the spring of 2016 at Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, TOM* to an overwhelmingly positive response. The brand has since continued to expand with larger men’s and women’s collections, and plans to incorporate accessories and children’s clothes in the near future.
Inspired by the vintage rock & roll and old Hollywood glamour icons, Jimi Hendrix and Marilyn Monroe, HENDRIXROE embodies the epitome of “glamorous rocker couture” with close attention to construction, fabric and fine lines, combining an innovative and unique perspective on the affluent and trend setting clientele.
