Nigerian-Canadian up-and-coming artist, TOBi released his latest visual for “Sweet Poison” today on all platforms. Conceptually the song was inspired by Sigmund Freud’s repetition compulsion theory where a person endlessly repeats patterns of behavior that were difficult or distressing in earlier in life. From falling for the same kind of person to being excited by the danger of the unknown, TOBi re-lives a plethora of emotion similar to the psychological theory. In the sultry track TOBi shows a prominent part of the human experience by being open about his personal vices. The song is produced by Nate Smith & Nahum while the video is directed by Ryan Charles Griffin.

“My vision for this video was to turn my ideas into literal art pieces and bring out magical elements similar to my favorite surrealist artists. I try to be multidimensional  and bridge the world of fantasy with reality to defy the limits,” says TOBi.

TOBi will be performing a homecoming show in Toronto on May 3rd, @ The Drake Hotel. Tickets can be purchased here.
