BigKlit recruits Trippie Redd for new version of "Beautiful"

Provocative rap sensation BigKlit has partnered with Universal Music Group / Caroline Distribution recording artist Trippie Redd to release a new version of her single "Beautiful." A haunting music video and companion short-film, that PAPER called "a work of art that's unpredictable at every turn," explores disassociation and hallucinations that occur between two toxic lovers.

"The short film happened organically," says BigKlit in a new interview with Audiofemme. "I always start with a creative concept in mind, not thinking about the length at all, and then let it flow from there. All of my videos are really cinematic, so the concept for this came very naturally."

Earlier this month, BigKlit released her intergalactic sex dominated romp of a video for her song "Boy Bye," and performed a 40-minute live set on "Digital FORT" produced by The FADER. "A few minutes into this 40-minute live set for "Digital FORT," BigKlit half-tries a COVID-19 PSA, but instead gets tired and screams 'FUCK EVERYTHING THAT EXISTS,' says Alex Robert Ross. "It's one of the most laid-back moments in a fucking wild performance from an artist who The FADER's Ava Trilling last year described as 'equal parts rage and raunch.'"

“An intriguing, elusive track with minor chord melodies, listless vocalizations and an ominous hook…its visuals are everything you’d likely see in a twisted thriller: lightning, murder, out-of-body experiences and drugs, all with romantic yet eerie songwriting aimed at a subject unaware of their own beauty.”

"It’s the characteristically blunt lyrics from her stand-alone singles that have proven to be
the keys to her breakout success."

“BigKlit explores a sexual fluidity and exploration of dominance as a woman and a rapper. There’s also a punky anger and darkness that runs through her music,
as she raps about bisexuality, dysfunctional family issues,
self-acceptance, and being the ‘queen of hell.’”
 – The FADER

“BigKlit is known for her no-f*cks-given attitude and raunchy, rage-filled flows. Coming from nothing, she’s fought tooth & nail to get where she is today,
and she has no plans of surrendering.”
