TIKA by Vincent Bergeron

In no time, TiKA released two EPs: “Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid” and late in 2016, “Carry On”. Both oeuvres garnered attention from platforms like Noisey , The Fader, CBC Music and others. Afropunk called the work “spiritual goodness”, a description that perfectly aligned with TiKA’s intention: to share her own healing process through depression with others who may need it.

From SXSW (Austin, TX) to NXNE (Toronto); from A3C (Atlanta) to Redbull Music Festival (Montreal); Luminato in Toronto or SonReal in Vancouver, Pride in Toronto and Montreal, in this short time doing live performance,  headlining music festivals is on-going for TiKA.

Embracing the genre rightfully coined as “futuristic nostalgia”, TiKA’s compositions offer “ethereal sounds that wrap around you, reminding you of other memories”. The vibe remains current, and like the artist herself, evolving. With production work from friend and fellow artist, Casey MQ, and a duet with r’n’b artist, Desiire, the album’s themes address deeply personal relationships to ones’ inspired by TiKA’s Jamaican roots to others that are sonic representations of conversations with the self.

Hanorah by Monse Muro

Hanorah grew up to the sound of the classic rock and soul music her parents were fond of. Early on, she developed a passion for powerful vocalists, such as Etta James, Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone (to whom she has been compared many times).

Following a sexual assault in 2012, she plunged into a state of deep distress. After seeking psychological help and reading testimonies of other survivors, she decided to dive headfirst into song writing. Her chance meeting with guitarist Paul De Rita (who became her partner and closest collaborator) marked a creative turning point

After reaching quarterfinals on Season 5 of hit Quebec reality show La Voix, Hanorah signed with Dare to Care Records. In 2019, the young artist toured nationally as an opening act for Coeur de Pirate; won the FEQ (Festival d’Été de Québec) contest and grant; and has secured slots at Ottawa Bluesfest, POP Montreal (with Mavis Staples), International Jazz Fest of Montreal, and more. Her debut EP entitled “For the Good Guys and the Bad Guys” has amassed over a million streams and counting, with a full-length album coming soon.
